K-Beauty Expo – Mail September 2017

I’m a bit behind with getting these up on the blog but if you follow me on Instagram then you would have seen all of these posted there. I thought I would just compile all the products here for easy reading too in case anyone is interested.  We got two boxes quite close together so this is the first one and then there was one just before the expo in October so I will post that one asap too.

Remember if you want to know more about the expo you can check out the official website at http://www.k-beautyexpo.co.kr. They have both Korean and English versions of the site. This years expo was held in October and you can check out my post about it here. Of course there is always next year so if you are interested in visiting Korea then October is a great time to come. It’s around the end of summer so it’s cooling off a bit and it’s not quite as uncomfortable as it is earlier in the season.

A big thanks goes out to the K-Beauty Expo for sending me all these products to try out. I feel very lucky to have been involved in the expo this year. If you want to see my reviews on products I have received from the expo I have linked them all in one place for easy access – 2017 Beauty Editor.

This is what we received in the September box:

20171011_002408

First up is a cute tote bag and pocket mirror from one of the K-Beauty Expo’s sponsors – Glow Pick. Glow Pick is a popular beauty product review app here in Korea. It reviews and ranks lots of different beauty products from Korea and abroad.

Next are some rubber modeling masks from Lindsay. Lindsay is a beauty brand that specializes in esthetics. They develop products designed to protect the skin and prevent irritation. Their R&D department is always looking to increase the quality of their products through systematic research and meticulous ingredient control.

These modeling or rubber masks are made with alginate which comes from kelp. This is what makes it go from a powder to a soft rubbery gel. The three that we were sent this time are their Luxury Magic Mask Cup packs. The three versions are Gold, Aqua (Tea Tree) and Charcoal. You can find these on their website http://www.lindsayshop.com. The retail price is 8,000 won each

Each set comes in its own mixing cup. You get one packet of liquid and one of powder that need to be mixed together. You can then use the spatula also provided to apply over your face. After 20-30 mins you peel it off. You can clean off an excess with toner or water and then use some moisturizer to seal in the moisture from the mask.

The Gold mask contains 24K gold which is supposed to help stimulate skin and make it bright and smooth.

The Aqua mask contains tea tree and seaweed. It’s supposed to make skin moist and glossy.

The charcoal mask contains charcoal and is supposed to make the skin clear and elastic by absorbing waste.

These two masks are from a new brand that I hadn’t heard of before. This brand is Alaxo (에라슈) and you can find them at http://www.alaxo.co.kr.

They currently have five products. Four of them are from their Mermaid Princess line which consists of the pictured pink mask pack, another version which is blue and then two hand creams. The other product (pictured) is the fifth one which is a three step pore clearing pack.

First up lets have a look at the Mermaid Princess one. The character on this is kind of weird looking but if you don’t look too closely it’s kind of cute and the colors are nice.
It’s called the Alaxo Mermaid Tears 2-Step Mask Pack. Step one are some eye patches and then step two is the sheet mask.

The other one is the Alaxo 3 Step Octopus Nose Pack. Step one is a heating sheet, step two a clearing sheet and step three a relaxing sheet. This one has some cute packaging. The times for each step are added in plain sight to make it super easy to use and well who doesn’t love an octopus.

Next up are some products from Beaucros. Beaucros comes from the mixture of the words Beauty + Across. You can find them at http://www.beaucros.com

The aim of Beaucros is to bring beauty by filling up wrinkles without pain They use microstructure technology developed at Yonsei University. The technology maximizes the effect of Hyaluronic Acid and EGF by improving the transmission into the skin.

The Beaucros S 3.1 patches seem to be their signature product. These are wrinkle treatment patches which are supposed to be able to administer skin treatments more effectively without having to go to a clinic.

20171006_174454
The patches have biodegradable microstructures that deliver the skincare deep into the skin. It’s also supposed to be easy to use and painless. They are quite pricey at 76,000 won for the box. For that you would definitely want to see some results.

The other product they sent us is the Beaucros Rose Mask Pack. This is a box of ten which retails for 30,000 won. The mask sheets are made of 100% Rose Fiber Sheet which sounds very interesting.

20171006_174436

The essence contains Damascena Rose Water, Houttuynia Cordata, Hispanica Seed, Centella Asiatica, Peppermint Leaf, Camellia Sinesis Leaf, Lavender, Niacinamide and Adenosine. It’s supposed to be ultra moisturizing, whitening and anti-wrinkle.

20171006_174338

This one is is from a brand called DN64 or Doctor Needle 64 (DN64). DN64 is from the brand Skinculture which is a derma cosmetic brand. The parent company K L Global has been distributing aesthetic devices for decades and is well known in the dermatology field. You can find them at http://www.dn64.co.kr and for Skinculture you can go to http://www.medikmall.co.kr

DN64 seems to have been created for a specific device. Their signature product is a microneedling device that combines the roller and ampoule. You buy the device with the micro needles and it fits onto the top of the ampoule bottles which are sold separately. Then when you roll it on your skin the ampoule is applied directly through it and into your skin.

This Super Revive Cream is the only other product they currently have under this brand besides the device itself and three types of ampoules. It looks really nice in a silver and white tube. It is 30mls and retails for 33,000 won.

The cream is supposed to have a fresh gel texture that strengthens the skin barrier and restores essential moisture. It says on the box that it is ‘The Cream that Improves a Damaged and Sensitive Skin’ and it also says that it is Whitening + Wrinkle Functional Cosmetic.

20171006_174356
It contains Centella Asiatica Extract which can help to improve damaged skin, calm skin irritation and is good for anti-aging and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 which is synthetic peptide that is supposedly good for anti-aging. Other ingredients include Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract to name just a few.

Next we are looking at an interesting product from a brand called d’Alba. D’Alba says that they pursue pure, healthy and classy cosmetics based on the ideals of the clean, green area of Italy called Piedmont. The brand name features the d-Alba first and then in smaller letters Piedmont is written under that. Alba is a town in Piedmont and is famous for its white truffle, peach and wine production.

The product we have been sent is the d’Alba White Truffel First Spray Serum. It’s 100ml and retails for 29,000 won. This is a reformulated version of a previous product they offered.

The white truffle serum still has the deep anti-aging and antioxidant effects of the original but now has a new texture that is supposed to be fast absorbing, light and leaves the skin silky smooth.

It also has other ingredients such as Avocado Oil, Niacinamide, Basil Extract, Sunflower Seed Oil, Adenosine, Peppermint Leaf Extract, Ginseng Root Extract and Sodium Hyaluronate.

20171006_174608
This serum says it soaks into the skin without leaving a greasy feel. They advise you to spray it on to your face after getting out of the shower, before or after makeup, anytime the skin feels dry. It helps to hold moisture, nourish the skin and clam it from external stimulation.

It seems to be more of a mist than an actual First Serum which the name would lead you to believe. I think you could use it as a serum or just as a mist which I will probably do.

These two items are from the brand Dr. You & Me. Dr. You & Me was made through the results of rigorous testing and research over 3 years. The first product is one of their most popular products. It’s the BEBETOX Repair Cream and it retails for about 42,000 won for a 70ml tube. This cream has a moist and smooth texture that applies to the skin easily. It is enriched with peptides that take care of damaged skin and rejuvenate and strengthen the skins protective barrier. It also instantly soothes sensitive skin after dermatologist treatments.

This mask contains ingredients such as Madecassoside, Panthenol, Allantonin, Copper Tripeptide-1 and Tocopherol. It’s supposed to be good for anti-aging and skin elasticity. It also protects sensitive skin and improves skin damage.

Lalaspick is the face of newly established company PlanB Corporation (unfortunate name choice) which markets, manufacturers and distributes different products. They currently have some cosmetics such as the masks called ‘The Great Copycat’ and a soap. They also distribute ‘Bbaeza Cafe’ a Dutch weight-loss coffee brand.

The Great Copycat masks are replicas of luxury cosmetics brands. They claim they use the same ingredients and the same high end material but are 80% cheaper.

The first mask is the black one which is the Youth Return Mask – Time Rewind, Firming and Lifting. The mask it is duplicating is the Lancome Genefique Second Skin Mask. They say this has the same scent, essence, texture, ingredients and sheet material. The Youth Return Mask has a highly enriched essence formulated with nutritious enzymes and Bifida Ferment Lysate. It improves skin problems, brings back freshness and radiance to the skin. Price is 5,500 won.

The red version is called the White Renewal Mask – Light up, Whitening and Brightening Skin Radiance Care. The mask it is duplicating is the SK Whitening Source Derma Revival Program Mask. Just look at this stunning group from BonAir. I am absolutely in love with this packaging.

BonAir Inc. Is a premium skincare brand based around natural oils. They manufacture the core ingredients and design the products. Their ‘Phyto to real skin’ technology delivers precious botanical nutrients into the skin with a light texture and superior skin absorption.

I received three products from this brand and they all look beautiful and sound very interesting.

First up is the Rose Illuminator Drop which retails for 38,900 won. This is a moisturizing oil with a dual hydrating effect of blended oil and water. You have to shake it before use as the oil and water parts seperate. 8 herbal ingredients contained in the water layer help sooth and hydrate the skin. The natural rosehip oil contained in the oil layer nourishes and hydrates the skin. This also contains a natural whitening ingredient ‘Bisabolol’. This oil helps make your skin radiant from the inside out and helps remove skin blemishes.

The second product is the Rose Illuminator Moist Cream. This retails for 28,900 won. Made by blending 4 types of rosehip-based oil and 8 herbal ingredients this cream has a refreshingly light texture and whitening effects. It absorbs quickly into the skin providing instant hydration and gives your skin a clear and healthy glow by reducing blemishes and lightening skin complexions.

The last product from BonAir is the Premium Aloe Real Squeeze. It retails for 24,900 won. This is an essential toner which delivers the freshness and smooth texture of aloe vera. It contains the juice that is only squeezed out of the flesh part of the plant so it delivers deep nutrition. The toner also contains coconut oil and avocado oil which help to smooth and nourish the skin.

Mayucare

This one is a horse oil cream from Mayucare. This is probably one of the few products I am too squeamish to use. I love horses and grew up riding ponies and attending Pony Club. Obviously you can make up your own mind, this is just my personal feeling, so I will give you all the information about it but I will not be using it.

Mayucare is apparently the largest premium horse oil supplier in Korea. They are proud to produce the highest quality product. Their goal is to supply safe and top quality products to consumers. Products that both you and your family can feel comfortable using.

The cream we were provided with is the 7+Premium Extra Virgin Horse Oil. It is the highest grade of 100% refined horse oil. Horse oil is great for moisture, improved blood circulation, anti-aging, skin elasticity and it can also soothe irritated skin.

You use this after washing your face so you still have moisture in the skin. Place a small amount on your hand and dissolve it before applying to your face. After it is absorbed you can apply the rest of your skin care such as toner and lotion.

Horse oil should be used within six months of opening and keeping it refrigerated will help it stay fresh.

These two are joined together as they came in a set. The first picture is the air brush which is used for application of the Before After 7 Days (BA7) ing-Ampoule in the second picture.

BA7 comes from Daon Medicos. The corporation was founded last year and they manufacture and sell cosmetics. They provide high functional products which are the amazing results of extensive research. There are three products which they are proud to introduce to the world. The ‘ing- Ampoule’ which is the greatest all-in-one product, the ‘Serumst’ which is a multi-functional product of mask sheet, serum and then ‘The Amazing Ampoule’. The BA7 ing-Ampoule set retails for 330,000 won. You get 18 vials in the box. This ampoule is an all-in-one functional cosmetic that has whitening and anti-aging properties. It significantly improves skin’s visible firmness, density and elasticity, and dramatically reduces the look of lines and wrinkles.

The Air Gun or Brush retails for 120,000 won. This is a beauty tool that helps spread the ing-Ampoule on the skin. It reduces the loss of product that can be absorbed into your hands. It also massages your skin and gives you a spa-like treatment at home.

The website is http://www.daon.co if you want to find out more. This is a very interesting one and I will have to figure out how to use it.
